Meet the talented and dedicated individuals who comprise our 2022 Softball Team: Calvin Weaver, Shane Nicewonger, Tyler Watkins, Tyler Lockhart, Devin Chapman, Ken Mellring, Aaron Shook, John Crawford, and Jon Niles.

FRANKLIN IND. PARTICIPATES IN RGHS CAREER FAIR

Franklin Industries participated in the Rocky Grove Jr/Sr High School Career Fair, among other local businesses, on November 10, 2022.

Juniors and Seniors from several local school districts attended this annual fair to learn about colleges, tech schools, and local career opportunities. The students asked a lot of questions as they were excited and eager to learn.

Our very own Lynn Brandt and Josh Scarborough represented the company and showcased what we at Franklin Industries do and what we produce. We also handed out pamphlets, candies, and the coolest bags at the fair!

FRANKLIN IND. BUMPS UP ITS EFFORTS FOR A SAFER ENVIRONMENT

We at Franklin Industries believe that a clean work area is a safe work area. Housekeeping and Safety go hand-in-hand.

Gene Anderton who joined us in February this year, serves as the chair for the Safety Committee. He recently had our certification renewed.

Earlier this year, the walkways and guards have been repainted throughout the facility, and signage updates for truck drivers are underway.

The Golden Dustpan Award has also been reimplemented. Each month, the department with the best housekeeping is provided with lunch as the award. The most recent winner was the Farm Department for July.

We believe that a safe working environment is an ongoing goal that will only be achieved through group effort. We are glad that all departments have been doing well keeping their work areas free from trip hazards and clutter.

FRANKLIN IND. INITIATES PROGRAMS GEARED TOWARDS CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), sometimes referred to as Performance and Quality

CQI is a quality management philosophy that encourages all team members, including senior management, volunteers, and employees, to continuously ask what can be done better. It builds on existing quality management and emphasizes on the importance of internal and external customer satisfaction.

Under Ray’s leadership in the quality control department, we have initiated our own unique programs such as Visual Mill and IFI (Ideas for improvement). The Visual Mill program has been highly successful giving the mill staff faster feedback and agility with regards to mill adjustments. The IFI program provides a sounding board for many Ideas, one of which was the Visual Mill concept.

Our organization has the ability to recognize, identify and implement actions necessary to drive changes designed to address opportunities for improvement in a strategic and controlled manner. With the full participation at all levels, we are primed for success and ready for the challenges ahead.
